Product for BIS Registration

Yes, BIS / CRS registration is required for Automatic Data Processing Machines (ADPMs) that are imported or manufactured in India. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) introduced the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) in 2012 to ensure that electronic products sold in India meet certain safety and quality standards.

To register for BIS / CRS, you must submit an application to the BIS along with the following documents:

• A copy of the manufacturer's or importer's registration certificate with the BIS.
• A copy of the product's technical specifications.
• A copy of the product's test report from a BIS-approved laboratory.
• A copy of the product's user manual.
• Identity proof and address proof of the applicant.
• Name & address of the office and factory.
• Documents stating the establishment of the manufacturing unit like, inter alia, Certificate of Incorporation, MOA.
• MSME or SSI certificate, if applicable.

The BIS will review your application and may conduct an inspection of your product. If your application is approved, you will be issued a registration certificate. The registration certificate is valid for a period of five years.
